Captain America: Civil War Super Bowl TV Spot Review/Breakdown

We've all been waiting for that one, right? Who in their right mind wasn't??

The trailer delivered some new footage that was completely amazing. It had a great tone to it. The chanting in the background - United We Stand, United We Stand, United We Fall, Divided We Fall, Divided We Fall - alone gave this trailer a really really serious tone. The tone is very serious, and it should be. Since when (on the big screen) did we ever see superheroes fight each other?! Apart from the 5-minute scene in Avengers when CA and IM fought Thor, we never saw something like that! So the movie shouldn't really be light or funny like the previous Marvel movies, and from the looks of the 1st trailer that we got and this TV spot, it's not going to be.

Things I noticed, liked, or hated in this trailer:

- Bucky is supposed to be about 70-something years old by now, how isn't he? Answer's probably in this picture. It looks like Hydra (Hydra still exists, they're not completely gone yet) has been putting him into hibernate mode somehow with this machine that he's connected to.

- It looks like a good part of the movie is going to be in Germany, which is good because in the last Avengers movie all the danger revolved around a fictional country that you really don't care about, so them using a real life country is a good thing.

Flughafen Leipzig Halle is an airport in Germany

- Tony Stark is making badass upgrades to his tech and his suit(s)! Have you seen this shot??

Bullet-proof smartwatch, your move Apple!

The new Iron Man and War Machine suits are also looking great. They look slicker, natural, and even more amazing than they did before.

That gauntlet design though

To appreciate how good these two suits look, remember that they both came from this.

- The official team lineups as they will appear in the movie look awesome! Forget about Panthers and the Broncos, this was the best teams lineup of the Super Bowl. We've always known to an extent who's on who's side, but all we had thus far were just talks and promo arts, so it's great to finally see them in their glory!
On Captain America's side, we see (left to right) Falcon, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, Captain American, Scarlet Witch, and the Winter Soldier.
On Iron Man's side, we see (left to right) Black Panther, Vision, Iron Man, Black Widow, and War Machine.

As I've said before, the new Iron Man and War Machine suits look gorgeous, but there are one very noticeable suit upgrade on Cap's side, and that's Ant-Man's suit. The helmet's color changed from chrome silver to just plain silver, which looks pretty good. The suit itself also doesn't have that much leather that it had in his movie. Whatever material the suit's made out of, it looks pretty smooth and modern, which are two things I cannot say about the old suit.

- No Spider-Man. This is something that I hated, honestly, but as I thought more and more about it they'll probably treat him like they treated Vision in Avengers: AOU. They'll wait until the very final full official trailer, and they'll give us something very small to tease us, and then we'll finally see him for the first time on the big screen. Who can blame them? It worked beautifully for Vision, why wouldn't it for Spider-Man?

- OH MY GOD CAP'S SHIELD IS SCRATCHED!!

This is obviously Black Panther's claws, which are, for those of you who don't know, are made out of the very same Vibranium that Cap's shield is made out of.

So guys, what about you? Did you like this TV spot? Did I miss something? And who's side are you on, #TeamCap or #TeamIronMan? Let me know in the comments, and if you like this, share it with your friends! ☺

There also a lot of new TV spots that dropped. I haven't decided which one will I talk about yet, but whatever it is, expect my review/breakdown of it later tonight!
